The Next Payments Revolution: How Australia Will Transact in 2030
Australia’s payments landscape is evolving at pace — driven by real-time payments, digital identity, open data, regulatory changes, and rapidly shifting consumer expectations. Looking ahead to 2030, what will everyday transactions look like, and what changes must the industry make today to get there?
This panel brings together leaders from across payments, fintech, banking, and regulation to explore what the next decade holds for Australia’s payments ecosystem. Panellists will examine the future of account-to-account payments, digital wallets, embedded finance, and cross-border innovation, while also addressing critical considerations around security, inclusion, and resilience.
Through a forward-focused discussion, the panel will unpack the technologies, policy decisions, and behavioural shifts that will shape how Australians pay, get paid, and interact with money in 2030 — and what this transformation means for businesses, consumers, and the broader economy.
Date: Tuesday, 5 May 2026
Venue: NAB Building, 395 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (Level 10 Auditorium).
