Kate O’Rourke
Commissioner at ASIC
Kate is one of the five ASIC Commissioners and started her term in September 2023. She has more than 25 years’ experience in law and regulation across financial services, markets, and corporations. Kate joined ASIC from Treasury, where she held senior leadership positions with responsibility for data and digital economic reforms, COVID economic policy responses, small business policy and regulatory frameworks governing market conduct. Kate previously held senior executive roles at ASIC with responsibility for corporate transactions and governance, and practised in the Sydney and New York offices of the law firm Sullivan and Cromwell.
Gulshan Singh
Head of Payments Policy at Commonwealth Bank of Australia
Gulshan Singh is Head of Payments Policy at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. She started her career as a physiotherapist before pivoting to financial services where she has built over 20 years of experience in public policy, advocacy and regulatory affairs in banking and general insurance. Gulshan and her team are responsible for influencing payments public policy by contributing evidence based views to inform the public debate and shape the future of the Australian payments system.
Kristy Duncan
Founder & CEO at Women in Payments
A sought-after advisor, investor, and speaker, Kristy has dedicated her career to empowering the professional and personal development of women in the payments and fintech industry. She founded Women in Payments in 2012, a global organization that connects, educates, and champions women in the payments industry. Prior to that, Kristy was a leading global payments consultant. She advised C-suite leaders at global financial institutions, payments networks, fintechs, regulators, and more. Prior to that, she held leadership positions at a tier one Canadian bank in the areas of corporate treasury, transaction banking, finance, and operations. Today, Kristy works closely with fintech founders to help them build pivotal relationships, secure funding, and take their businesses to the next level.
